Spring—one of the most refreshing times of the year. And with the launch of Big Island Candies’ NEW Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread Assorted Combo, that will certainly ring true.

The Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread features a deep, rich, distinctive tropical pink hue. At first bite, it’s fragrant and refreshing, unmistakably guava. Along with this iconic taste comes yet another taste and texture: a generous amount of macadamia-nut pieces.

Simply put: The beautiful balance of flavors is nothing short of incredible.

The gift box includes both the original Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread and the White Dipped Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread. This dipped version features a hint of vanilla in the creamy ivory coating.

Why Our Island-Life Inspiration

Big Island Candies is based in Hilo, Hawaii. That’s why tropical flavors have always been sources of inspiration in creating the finest—and freshest—confections.

A sampling of our tropical-inspired concoctions include:

These flavors can send your taste buds on a tropical vacation. If you’re considering an upcoming trip to Hawaii, prime your palate for your future trip. You can try any of the treats above, or our new Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread.

Before visiting a vacation destination, you might purchase a guidebook or visit a few travel websites/blogs. We offer you the same opportunity to acquaint yourself with the flavors of Hawaii. Visit our Signature Shortbreads, Baked Treats, Chocolates and Local Favorites web pages to do your “homework.” Enjoy your scrumptious “study”!

We Listened to Our Customers to Create New “Confection Cousins”

Another source of inspiration for the Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread: our customers

We keep our ears open. Our customers told us how much they’ve enjoyed the Bite Size Guava Macadamia Nut Cookies. They kept suggesting we should add something similar to our Signature Shortbreads line.

So we did.

We decided to use the general flavor profile of the Bite Size as a starting point for this new shortbread. Although both are part of the cookie family, the shape, texture, and flavor formulations are different between the two family members. We like to think of them more as “confection cousins.” Whether it’s the Bite Size variety or the shortbread selection, isn’t it nice to have options?

And for those times when you can’t quite select which delectable shortbread to get, there’s always a shortbread assorted combo.

Variety is Nice in Life, and Shortbread

The Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread Assorted Combo joins our list of other amazing shortbread assortments, for example:

Our shortbreads hit the spot all year-round. Of course, it’s nice to enjoy a seasonally-inspired treat, too, such as this new Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread.

Arrives Bright on Time

With spring, the air gets even more refreshing. The colors found in nature seem to become even more brilliant. And, for us in Hawaii, spring means the Merrie Monarch Festival, happening here in Hilo, April 17 through April 23, 2022.

This inspiring event celebrates the beauty of the Hawaiian cultural arts. Its world-renowned, three-night hula competition serves as one of the major festivities. Hawaii residents and visitors alike also attend traditional craft fairs around Hilo.

And with all the exquisite handcrafted items on display, we take pride in our very own dedicated local artisans at Big Island Candies. They handcraft our Guava Macadamia Nut Shortbread Assorted Combo, and other confections.

During the festival and any time, you can purchase our confections at our Hilo and Ala Moana Center stores, as well as online at bigislandcandies.com, and by phone.

This assortment is available in a gift box that includes approximately 19 cookies (10 White Dipped; 9 non-dipped). It’s just one of our many products that represents how beautifully delicious—and deliciously beautiful—Hawaii is. It’s that perfect treat, at just the (b)right time.

Wishing you and yours a tropical, phenomenal spring season!
